Shaykh Abdul Nasir Jangda was born in 1979 in Ft. Worth, TX. He was raised in Arlington, TX. At the age of 10 he went to Karachi, Pakistan to memorize the Holy Quran. He excelled in his memorization and committed the whole Quran to memory within 1 year. He then returned home and continued his school education. After graduating from High School, he went back to Karachi to study the Alim Course. He graduated from the rigorous 7 year program in 2002 at the top of his class and with numerous Ijaazaat (Licenses) in various Islamic Sciences. Along with the Alim Course he concurrently completed a B.A. and M.A. in Arabic from Karachi University.
Shaykh Abdul Nasir Jangda began leading Taraweeh prayers here at the Islamic Association of Mid-Cities at the age of 14 in 1994. Since then he has completed the Quran in Taraweeh prayers and provided Tafseer (Exegesis of the Quran) every year. After graduating in 2002 he began serving IAMC as the Khateeb and by teaching various classes.
Alhamdulillah, in September 2007 he joined IAMC as the full-time Imam. He currently conducts different programs, provides counseling, and answers questions for the community.
