Tafseer classes weekly on Wednesday between Magrib and Isha prayers at the masjid by Imam Nadim Bashir. (NOTE: This week, the class will be on Thursday April 14, 2011)

Recite Quran with Tajweed starting April 25, 2011 every Monday and Thursday 5-7 pm at the masjid by Imam Nadim Bashir. The program will focus mainly on children in order to help them reach a level where they can read the Quran fluently with Tajweed.

This class will be taught by Imam Yaseen (Plano), Imam Nadim (Arlington), and Imam Nasir (Colleyville).

The course will cover the characteristics of the believers found in the Qur’an and will focus on select passages highlighting these.

As always, the class is free, and everyone is encouraged to attend. Come and learn in a professional manner from our local scholars and meet many new families at the same time.

When we started the Qalam Institute project, one of the aims we had was to develop an infrastructure within DFW to support academic learning of Islam. While our primary focus is our seminars, now and then we are afforded the opportunity to help integrate into national programs as well. This course will focus on conceptualizing the key elements of Grammar that are essential in understanding the Qur’an. This will be a 12 session course meeting Mon, Tues, and Wed from Maghrib (8:15pm) to Isha (10pm) for 4 weeks.

Details:

• Place – IAMC – Colleyville Masjid

• Dates – May 4-6, 11-13, 18-20, 25-27

• Time – 8:15pm – 10pm

• Requirements – Ability to read Arabic script

• Tuition – You will have to purchase the class materials which will be about $20 and a $100 donation to IAMC is recommended

Alhamdulillah, over 300 people from all over DFW (and even a few people from out of town) attended Qalam Institute’s first official seminar – Divine Ethics: Tafsir Surah al-Hujurat.

Those in attendance enjoyed a real treat as Imam AbdulNasjir Jangda and Imam Muhammad Asif covered many lessons of this surah in a professional and academic manner while continually maintaining focus on how the lessons could be applied to the day to day life of every Muslim.

The Qalam vision of 1,000 students is also starting to materialize. Alhamdulillah, some of the students said that they had been motivated to memorize Surah Hujuraat after taking this class. One group of students has also started memorizing Surah Luqman in anticipation of the April 25th class, Written in Gold – watch the YouTube trailer.
