Quran Classes

Quran Classes Description

Reading and learning how to recite the Quran with Tajweed is a responsibility on every person whether child or adult. Therefore in order to fulfill this responsibility, IAMC is offering a weekly Quranic program. This program will focus mainly on children in order to help them reach a level where they can read the Quran fluently with Tajweed.

F.A.Q
Q. How do you teach them to read the Quran?
A. We normally start off the child the Quranic reader. This book focuses on the Arabic alphabet followed by connecting letters and then finally studying words and verses from the Quran.

Q. What are the timings for this class?
A. Monday & Thursday 5-7 p.m. Please bear in mind that although the class is for 2 hours, you are to leave your child(ren) for only ONE HOUR only. For an example, if you drop off your child to the class at 5:15, then he/she is to be picked up no later than 6:15 and so forth.

Q. Who will be teaching these classes?
A. Shaykh Nadim Bashir (Imam of IAMC). He has memorized the entire Quran and has several Ijazaat in Qira’ah.

Q. Children of which age can attend this class?
A. Currently we are taking children, boys and girls from the ages of 5 – 12.

Q. Where will the classes be held at?
A. At Islamic Association of Mid-Cities. 500 Cheek Sparger Rd. Colleyville,Texas 76034

Q. Is there any fees to send our children?
A. Yes $60 for 1 child, $100 for 2 children, and $140 for 3 or more children from one family.

Q. What if I cannot afford to send my child(ren)?
A. If you are not able to pay the fixed amount of money to enroll your child, you are not obligated to do so. Teaching your child how to recite the Quran is far more important to us than the money. However, if you can afford it then please do pay the fixed amount.

Q. When is the fee due by?
A. We prefer that you pay the fee within the first week of the month. If by any chance there is a situation where it cannot be paid in the first week, simply let the teacher know about it.

Q. Is there a certain dress code for the students?
A. Yes. The purpose of placing these rules is to teach our children what modesty is all about and how it is very important in Islam. It is very unfortunate that firstly, parents hardly teach their children about modesty and secondly, modesty in most cases does not exist today in our Muslim community.
