About IAMC

About

In the mid 1980’s a group of families approximately (25) alternated hosting Sunday school at their homes for families offering lessons in Islamic Studies, Quran recitation to leading Dhuhur prayers.

Over a (13) year span we experienced tremendous growth of Muslim families relocating to the mid-cities area residing in Hurst, Euless, Bedford, North Richland Hills, Grapevine, Southlake and Colleyville. To accommodate the growing community, we then transitioned to a recreation center for daily prayers, religious events and Sunday school with structure.

In 1993, through planning and collaboration our community leaders developed a plan to raise funds to purchase land to construct Islamic Association of Mid-Cities in 1994. We appreciate all families that supported one another and city of Colleyville to establish IAMC in Colleyville Texas.

Foundations of Faith and Worship

Five Pillars of Islam

Faith

The declaration of faith, “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His messenger,” affirms a Muslim’s belief in the oneness of God and the finality of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It is the core principle that distinguishes Islam from other beliefs.

Prayer

Muslims perform five daily prayers at prescribed times: Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha. These prayers serve as a direct connection between the worshiper and Allah, promoting discipline, mindfulness, and spiritual purification.

Charity

Muslims who are financially able must give 2.5% of their savings annually to help those in need. This act of charity purifies wealth, fosters social equality, and ensures economic support for the less fortunate.

Fasting

During the month of Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn to sunset, abstaining from food, drink, and other physical needs. This practice instills self-discipline, gratitude, and empathy for the less privileged while strengthening one’s connection with Allah.

Pilgrimage

Muslims who are physically and financially able must perform Hajj at least once in their lifetime. This sacred journey to Mecca symbolizes unity, humility, and submission to Allah, as millions of Muslims gather for worship.

Whoever spends in charity,

Allah will multiply it.
