Qari Yasser Elkady was born in Alexandria, Egypt, and completed the memorization of the Holy Quran at the age of nine. By the age of thirteen, he began leading Muslims in Taraweeh prayers across various countries worldwide for his melodious voice and exceptional Quranic recitation.
He studied under a distinguished group of renowned Quran reciters in Egypt and prominent scholars of Al-Azhar University. Imam Yasser Elkady takes pride in holding one of the highest chains of transmission (Sanad) connected to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in the ten canonical modes of recitation (Qira’at).
He pursued his studies at Al-Azhar University, specializing in the fourteen Quranic recitations—both the Mutawatir (widely transmitted) and Shadh (non-canonical) recitations—as well as vocal Maqamat (melodic modes). He graduated in 2007 and subsequently became a member of the Egyptian Ministry of Endowments’ Reciters Syndicate.
Imam Yasser Elkady later traveled to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, where he served as a Quran reciter for the official Holy Quran Radio and as the Imam of the Mosque of the World Islamic Sciences and Education University for five years.
and in 2011 he got called on to be the official Qari at the Jordanian Royal Court.
He has participated in several prestigious international Quranic competitions, securing first and second positions globally. One of his most notable achievements was winning the Hashemite International Quran Competition in 2011, where he was honored by His Highness Prince Ali bin Nayef.

Qari Yasser Elkady has mentored and graduated hundreds of imams and Huffadh across the world.
As of today he is our imam at the Colleyville Masjid, he teaches full-time at IQA school and is a Professor at Al-Huda University online.
